I would like to share with you our family photos, some of which go back to the late 18oo's. So I will be adding photos and comments over the coming weeks and months.
As we are of Swiss / British origin, ( and now I have found out that my great grandmother was Austrian.) there will be a mixture of both
One of my mothers sisters Trudi Caviezel married a French man Andre Febvre (or Fabvre )and settled in France, therefore I have Swiss, English and French relatives.
So do please keep coming back for updates.

The above photo taken on 18th April 1937 is of the "Combined folk ensemble" of Chur and surrounding villages County Graubuenden Switzerland ( Where I was born and grew up). My Grandfather ( Neni ) Luzzi Anton Caviezel is pictured in the middle row on the far right with the string bass.
He owned a bakery in Schuls Tarasp in the Engadine.
Although music runs in both sides of my family, it is mainly the from the Swiss side. All my 7 Swiss aunts and uncles including my mother and most of my cousins play instruments. On the English side only my uncle George (George Dunn ) was musical. He was an exceptional banjo player.
The Above photo was take in 1915 again my grandfather 2nd from right with string bass, with the" R. Ambass Folk group Chur."
The above photo shows a wind ensemble. The person in the 2nd row far left, is my grandfather when he was much younger. So this photo would have been taken sometime in the late 1800's.
Above, here he is again at the back with the guitar.
Above again on the string Bass sometime around 1937, it looks like they enjoyed a drink or two.
Above, my mother Martha Ursula Dunn (Caviezel) on the string bass. This was taken in Arosa Switzerland in 1935
Above, in keeping with the musical theme, myself also on string bass. Picture was taken in Olten Switzerland sometime in the mid 60's. In this group I played the string bass and saxophone.
Above, far right I am on the guitar. Taken in Chur mid 70's. We had quite a success with this group, playing in various places in Switzerland. We were offered a contract to turn pro, which we turned down after much deliberation.
The above photo is of my wife's great grandparents, Anna & Samuel Schweizer, outside their house in Olten. Taken in the 1800's
Anna's Maiden name was Anna von Arx
The above photo is of my wife's Grandparents, Mina & Albert Troller. Mina was the daughter of Anna & Samuel Schweizer.
The above photo is my wife in the early 1950's
Above, myself approx.1949
The above photo of myself in the early 1950's, together with my English granddad (granfer) William Dunn
The above photo is of my English grandmother Helah Dunn, her maiden name was Tattershall
Above, my dad Frederick Arthur Dunn, my Nan (Helah Dunn-Tattershall)) and myself. This was taken at 55 east str. Beaminster Dorset where my dad grew up.
The above photo is of my Swiss grandparents "Neni and Noni" Luzzi Anton and Maria Bertha Caviezel.
The above picture is of my Swiss great grandparents. Joseph Anton Caviezel 1849- 1920
and Carolina Caviezel-Winkler 1845-1909
Carolina was originally from Ried Tyrol Austria
They were the parents of Luzzi Anton Caviezel.
Above, here are my great-grandparents again, with some of their children. They had 10 children, but sadly 3 died as babies.
Above, my Vetter (uncle) Bernard and Tante Lina. Tante (Aunty) Lina's maiden name was Gubser, and was the sister
of my Grandmother Maria Bertha
The above 2 photos are of my wife's mother Mina Bertha Troller. In the left hand photo she is 2 yrs old and it was taken in 1918
The above picture is of my Swiss grandparents, and their 7 children.
My mother Martha Ursula is in the back row, far right.
Back row right left to right: Tante Berthie, Tante Trudie, my Mother
Front row left to right: Onkel Toni, Tante Annie, my Nan (noni) Tante Stineli, My granddad ( neni) Onkel Paul
The above photo is my Swiss great grandmother. Unfortunately that is all I know about her. She would have been the Mother of my Grandfather Luzzi Anton Caviezel
The above photo of my parents, Frederick Arthur & Martha (Diane) Dunn- Caviezel
Dad was with the 8th army in North Africa ( demobbed in 1946)
Mum worked in the aircraft factory
The above photo of my mother Martha Ursula Caviezel, outside their home in Hohenbüle Chur,
taken before 1939
The above photo somewhere in the Swiss alps
From left to right: Front row My Swiss granddad and Grandmother, Onkel Paul (with Accordion)
Middle row: the fair haired girl on the right is my mother.
My Onkel (Uncle) Paul could not read a single note of music, but he was a "fantastic" musician who put many trained musicians to shame.
The above photo is again of my dad, ( back row 3rd from left ) together with the 16 Squad 1940
My Swiss granddad (Neni) in his military uniform. Unfortunately no date on this one
Above, my Dad taken in 1942 Tsmailia Egypt. Looks like he picked up an injury above his right knee.
Above, my French Uncle Andre. Not sure if this is his military uniform, or his police uniform.
For pipe lovers, the above 3 photos from left to right:
My wife's great grandparents, my Swiss grandparents and my English grandparents and the granddads are all seen smoking their pipes.
Another tradition apart from music that I keep going.
I have been told that there is a striking resemblance between my self and my English granddad.
The above photo is of our French relatives.
Left hand photo is of Tante Trudie ( Febvre ), my Swiss grandmother, and my mother, together with my French cousins
Middle photo of my French cousins, right hand photo French family gathering.
The photos were taken in Bourg en Bresse France where Tante Trudi lived with her French policeman husband.
Keeping track of so many relatives in the UK, Switzerland and France is quite complicated.
